What an amazing year. By far my favorite. I’ve met so many cool people all over the world. I’ve been lucky enough to work with amazing talent in London and completely fell in love with the city. In the spirit of nostalgia, I present to you true believers, my favorite motion pieces of the year. The cream of the crop.
Woodkid – Iron.
Absolutely my favorite music video….possibly ever. Slow mo symbolism and symphony. Noice.
Year Zero – OFFF Barcelona.
Director Mischa Rozema has been incredibly transparent about this title sequence disguised as a short film. Read the Director’s notes after watching this one. A bar has been made with this one.
Chiller Rebrand
It’s not often I find a great station rebrand ( I can count them on one hand) and Onesize (my dream studio) nailed this one.

Countdown
The craftsmanship and TIME put into this piece by Céline Desrumaux is staggering. There’s something to enjoy in every frame she lovingly created. I love the idea of space travel and humanity exploring the stars and the timing of this video couldn’t have been better. Today with private enterprise looking to the stars and NASA’s backing off with sending humans into space, makes the message all the more powerful.
Metronomy – The Bay
I’m a huge fan of Director David Wilson. I had the pleasure of meeting him this year at the Playgrounds Festival in the Netherlands. He just can’t keep still! There’s too much creative energy blasting out of this guy and the gigantic body of work he’s made this year alone is a testament to that. Check out his making of pieces as well!
Eye of the Storm – Lovett
Clearly, I love cinematic based projects and this one is no different. This is a close second to best music video of the year.
Mac ‘n’ Cheese
A student short. Lemme say that again, a STUDENT short. I was wildly entertained…and intimidated. These guys are going far.
Is Tropical – The Greeks
Basically a 100% true renactment of my childhood. My inner child squealed with joy while watching this.
Fredrik Ekholm – Showreel 2011
This guy gets the gold star for my favorite showreel. I have a strange addiction to showreels. They act like shots of inspiration and motivation straight to the vein. Fredrick’s gave me heart palpatations.
Sky Better Effect 2.0
Last but not least (aaaand a heartless plug) this was a blast to make with the team at Neon.
So what are your favorites?
